Propak have developed a bespoke conductivity testing instrument to enhance the testing and certification of our plating processes.
Approved to MIL Standards, the testing equipment is used to check the conductivity of plated surfaces before and after the plating process to ensure that the levels of electrical current that passing through the parts remain consistent across the tested range.
This provides us with a reciprocal value which allows us to determine how well the surface conducts electrical current and indirectly allows us to draw conclusions about changes in the metal’s composition, micro-structure and mechanical properties.
This process has recently been approved to MIL Standards and MBDA specifications so we are now able to provide this testing for our Defence and Military customers which will be backed up by these approvals.
Combining the above test with our salt spray testing chamber, it allows us to assess the corrosion resistance of materials and plated surface finish. This is particularly useful for our customers in the Military, Defence, Marine, Automotive, Oil and Gas industries, as it allows us to provide a fast turnaround without having to rely on a time consuming third party testing house.
